What Teachable documents as exportable

Teachable's export article states that it does not have a native feature to export a course as a single unit, that it does not support bulk exporting or downloading all course files and folders at once, and that the support team cannot perform a full export on your behalf. Budget time for a manual rebuild of the curriculum in LearnDash.

DataHow Teachable provides itLimit to plan around
UsersExport CSV from Users; sent to the school owner's emailMust be downloaded within 24 minutes of being sent
TransactionsExport CSV from Transactions; emailedSales history only; not a live billing relationship
Course reportsLesson completion, quiz scores, leaderboards and open-ended answers as CSV from the Reports tabVideo stats reports cannot be exported
Videos, PDFs, audio, resourcesDownloaded one item at a time from the block's menuNo bulk download
Lesson text and imagesText copied into a word processor; images saved individuallyManual

Student data: what the user CSV contains

Teachable's Users article lists the CSV fields: user ID, full name, email, phone number, last login, sign-up date, course count, sign-up source, country based on join IP, sign-in count, marketing opt-out status, affiliate code, saved billing and delivery addresses, and tags. That is enough to create WordPress accounts and to respect marketing opt-outs. Passwords are not in the list, so plan a password-set email to every imported student.

Because the file expires 24 minutes after the email is sent, run the export when you are at your desk, download immediately, and store the file encrypted; it contains personal data.

Progress: what the reports do and do not tell you

Teachable's course reporting article describes the Lesson completion report, and notes a lesson counts as complete only when the student clicks Complete and Continue. Only graded quizzes have their results shown in student progress reports, and students enrolled through bundled content are not included in the percentage breakdown.

Neither help article read for this guide describes a Teachable-to-LearnDash progress importer. Treat progress transfer as a custom data task: map Teachable lessons to the new LearnDash lesson IDs, then mark completions for each student through a script or developer tool, and test on staging with a sample of real students. If that is not worth the cost, an alternative is to tell students which lesson to resume from and keep the exported report as a record.

Payments and subscriptions: the unresolved part

Teachable's help page on Teachable Pay says setup is powered by Stripe, that earnings are paid to your bank account via Stripe, and that some business details must be changed through Stripe support. The export and payments articles read on 13 October 2026 do not describe exporting active subscriptions or saved payment methods to another platform.

Until Teachable or Stripe confirms otherwise in writing for your account, plan as if recurring billing cannot move. That means choosing between letting existing Teachable subscriptions run to their end while new sales go to WordPress, or asking subscribers to re-subscribe on the new checkout. Either way, keep the Teachable school open until the last paid access period ends, and use the transactions CSV to reconcile who has paid for what. Our guide on migrating course progress and payments covers the reconciliation step.

Budgeting the destination: LearnDash pricing

LearnDash's pricing, now served from liquidweb.com, listed three plans on 13 October 2026: Essentials at $259 per year, Pro at $399 per year and Elite at $599 per year, each described as one license, unlimited courses, unlimited learners, renewing annually with cancel any time, and a 48-hour free trial. Hosting, a membership or payment plugin if you need one, and video hosting are separate costs; our guide on moving course video off WordPress covers the video piece.

  • Week 1: export users and transactions, download every video and file, and record the curriculum structure.
  • Week 2: rebuild courses in LearnDash on staging; upload videos to a video platform.
  • Week 3: import students, decide the progress approach, set up checkout, run a test enrolment.
  • Cutover: send password-set emails, redirect the old school's sales page if Teachable permits, keep Teachable running for existing subscribers.
